Exhibitions and trade fairs experienced a very special year, when they were among the first to be completely closed and the strictest rules applied to them, when it came to short and partial release. The current weakening of the coronavirus epidemic in the Czech Republic in recent weeks has also brought news of the gradual opening of segments of the economy, sports or social life. Prague-Letňany Exhibition Centre, Large Hall 1. Since it was first held in October 2013 the Electric Buses for the City conference, organised by the consulting firm Ing. Jakub Slavík, MBA - Consulting Services, under the auspices of the Association of Transport Enterprises of the Czech Republic, has made its name as a unique presentation and educational event and as a place where professionals in electric passenger transport can share their current experiences among themselves. With its focus on a specific topic, specific presentation and a specific audience, this conference has become a means of direct communication between electric bus and trolleybus manufacturers (including their components and infrastructure) and their operators and users. Last but not least, representatives of institutions that decide on the financing of this kind of transport or that have up-to-date and reliable information about it play an important role here.

From the very beginning, the conference has focused on new technologies for electric buses and operational experience with them, as well as on means and methods of financing both finished products and development projects. The conference organiser is not a conference agency, but a professional consulting firm that maintains close contact with carriers and their professional associations as well as with municipalities, public transport organisers and other interested persons and organisations.

This year’s conference is a follow-up to last year’s seventh edition at the Czechbus 2018 trade fair. This time it will be held in the new and much more impressive premises of Prague-Letňany Exhibition Centre. It is also a follow-up to this year’s other Smart City in Practice conference, organised by Ing. Jakub Slavík, MBA - Consulting Services, which places modern urban mobility in the wider context of an intelligent city.
